Semax / Selank Blend

Semax + Selank

A nootropic-plus-anxiolytic pairing — focus from Semax, calm from Selank, in one nasal formula.

Semax + Selank neuropeptide blend

Small open-label studies, case series, or trials in a narrow population. Directionally informative, not conclusive.

Overview

This blend pairs the two best-known Russian neuropeptides: Semax, used for focus, cognition, and neuroprotection, and Selank, an anxiolytic that calms without sedation. The idea is a balanced 'focused-but-calm' state — the stimulation and BDNF support of Semax offset by Selank's anti-anxiety effect.

Both components have Russian clinical use and limited Western validation, so the blend inherits that mixed evidence picture. It is typically delivered intranasally. Anyone managing a mood or anxiety disorder should involve a prescriber, since both peptides touch serotonergic and other neurotransmitter systems.

How it works

  • Semax raises BDNF/NGF and modulates dopamine and serotonin for focus and neuroprotection.
  • Selank modulates GABA and serotonin systems and stabilises enkephalins for anxiolysis.
  • Combined, they aim for alert focus without the overstimulation Semax can cause alone.

What the research shows

Researched effects

  • Focus, mental stamina, and neuroprotection (Semax, Russian data)
  • Anxiety reduction without sedation (Selank, Russian data)
  • Anecdotal 'calm focus' from the combination

Limitations & what it won't do

  • Western controlled trials are largely absent for both.
  • Intranasal dosing and concentration vary; confirm before dosing.
  • Not FDA approved.

Dosing protocols

These ranges reflect published trials and community protocols. They are reference information, not a prescription. Doses are per injection unless noted.

Intranasal protocol (community)

250–500 mcg of each (per component)
Frequency1–3× daily
RouteIntranasal spray
TimingEarlier in the day; avoid late dosing if it disrupts sleep
Cycle2–4 weeks, then a break

Confirm the blend's per-peptide concentration before dosing.

Reconstitution & measuring your dose

Handling

Typical vial sizes
20 mg
Suggested BAC water
2 mL
Storage
Refrigerate, protected from light.
After reconstitution
Reconstituted: approximately 20–30 days refrigerated.

Why 2 mL? A 10/10 mg blend (20 mg total) is typically formulated into a metered nasal spray rather than injected.

  • Nasal irritation
  • Mild headache
  • Possible drowsiness (Selank) or overstimulation (Semax)

  • Poorly characterised in Western literature

Contraindications & interactions

Do not use if you have

  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive

    No pregnancy safety data.

Use caution if you have

  • Mood or psychiatric condition

Both modulate neurotransmitters; involve a prescriber for mood/anxiety disorders.

  • Seizure disorder

    CNS-active — caution with a seizure history.

Medication interactions

  • cautionSSRIs / SNRIsSerotonergic modulation on top of an SSRI/SNRI is unstudied.
  • cautionMAO inhibitorsCombining neuromodulators with MAOIs is poorly characterised.

What to monitor

  • Mood, anxiety, and sleep
  • Subjective cognitive effect
