Overview
Pinealon is one of the 'Khavinson peptides' — very short synthetic peptides (here a tripeptide) developed in Russian gerontology and proposed to act as gene-regulating 'bioregulators' for specific tissues, in this case the brain. It is studied alongside Epitalon and Pinealon in the same research lineage.
Animal and Russian clinical reports describe neuroprotective, antioxidant, and cognition-supporting effects, including protection against oxidative and hypoxic brain injury. As with the rest of this family, independent Western replication is lacking, and it is sold research-only.
How it works
- Proposed to penetrate cells and regulate expression of genes involved in neuronal survival and antioxidant defence.
- Reduces oxidative-stress-induced neuronal death in animal models.
- Supports normalisation of circadian and neuroendocrine regulation.
What the research shows
Researched effects
- Neuroprotection against oxidative and hypoxic injury in animal models
- Reported cognitive and antioxidant benefits in Russian studies
- Anecdotal focus and mood effects
Limitations & what it won't do
- Evidence is largely animal and single-lineage Russian work.
- No rigorous Western trials.
- Not FDA approved.
Dosing protocols
These ranges reflect published trials and community protocols. They are reference information, not a prescription. Doses are per injection unless noted.
Cyclical protocol (community)
100–200 mcgKhavinson protocols favour short courses. Documented for reference.
Reconstitution & measuring your dose
Handling
- Typical vial sizes
- 10 mg
- Suggested BAC water
- 2 mL
- Storage
- Lyophilised powder refrigerated at 2–8 °C, protected from light.
- After reconstitution
- Reconstituted: approximately 30 days refrigerated.
Why 2 mL? A 10 mg vial in 2 mL yields 5000 mcg/mL — 100 mcg lands on 2 units of a U-100 syringe; reconstitute in more water for easier small-dose measurement.
